Celebrating the transcendent and transforming power of choral music

In January, 2007, Sarah Lancaster accepted the position of  Executive Director for Masterworks Chorale.  Sarah Lancaster is a Belleville native and the wife of Lance Lancaster and mother of Luke, 4 and Scarlett, 1. She has spent the past four years directing and developing her own early childhood music education program, "Shake, Rattle & Roll." . Prior to all of that, she was a  professional church musician, performer with the Muny in Forest Park and Stages St. Louis, and a student at Webster University acquiring a Master of Music degree and a Bachelor of Music degree.

Sarah is a long time friend of the Masterworks Chorale. She first sang with the group as a founding member of the Children's Chorus in 1985. Since that time she was the Young Artist for Dr. Sparger in the Bach Society in 1995-1997. More recently, she reconnected with the Masterworks organization as a singer for the 2005-2006 season. Sarah is a passionate advocate for the arts and believes in the life-changing power of music. She is ready to lead the effort that will ensure Masterworks is in existence for years to come.

Masterworks Chorale is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.   We are also supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
Special thanks to the Arts and Education Council for their program support.
