Musician, performer, and teacher, Jerry Bolen was for decades our regular Broadway Concert drummer, appearing with Masterworks Chorale and Children’s Chorus annually, until last season, when health considerations caused him to step down. Jerry also participated in several of our Children's Chorus summer camp events, and shared his many percussion instruments -- his "toys" (!) -- with our eager young musicians. He and his wife Sue were regular Masterworks supporters, and often attended Masterworks concerts and Gala events. We last saw him at our December 11 Christmas at the Cathedral concert.

 

Jerry was a very kind and gracious man, and for us musicians, always a pleasure to work with. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather. And were he still with us, Jerry would be joining us in these performances with artistry, energy, and joy.
